Lum Manilakhang (1953 A.D)
Lum Manilakhang is located at Lum village , lower Dzongu, north Sikkim. In 1953 A.D. the Lum villagers built a stone Stupa and nearby this stupa a small structure was erected to perform pujas. Later, in 2004 this structure was converted into Manilhakhang with the fund provided by NHPC. The Manilhakhang was given a religious name as ‘Pema Phelzaling’ by H.H. Dodrubchen Rinpoche. The Altar contains big clay idols of Buddha, Chenrezig and Guru Rinpoche.
The land of 400x200 sq ft was donated by Nakpay Lepcha and Sri Ongdup Lepcha donated 2 acres for supplying firewood to the Manilhakhang. There are 14 monks and 10 Nyamos and 18 novice monks are studying in government aided monastic School besides it. It follows Nyingmapa Sect.
